IF YOU ARE THINKING OF CLIPPING YOUR BIRDS FLIGHT FEATHERS LISTEN UP!
BIRDS GET WHAT ARE CALLED BLOOD FEATHERS WHEN GOING THROUGH A MOLT AND IF CLIPPED CAN CAUSE YOUR BIRD TO BLEED TO DEATH. YOU CAN TELL IF YOUR BIRD HAS A BLOOD FEATHER BY LOOKING AT THE UNDER SIDE OF THE WINGS FOR RED LOOKING FEATHERS. LEAVE THESE FEATHERS AND THE FLIGHT FEATHERS AROUND THEM ALONE!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS BETTER TO NOT CLIP THAN IT IS TO CLIP A BLOD FEATHER WHICH WILL CAUSE SEVERE BLEEDING AND DEATH.  DO NOT CLIP BIRDS WINGS IF YOU  DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING PLEASE. TAKE IT TO YOUR AVIAN VET OR SOMEONE WHO KNOWNS HOW TO WORK WITH BIRDS. EVEN A SMALL DROP OF BLOOD CAN BE DANGEROUS FOR YOUR BIRD.  IT IS BETTER TO ASK A VET TO HELP YOU  THAN TO HAVE YOUR FEATHERED FRIEND DIE. IF YOU NOTICE YOUR BIRDS WING BLEEDING  ACT FAST AND TRY TO APPLY STYPTIC POWDER TO THE SITE AND APPLY PRESSURE. IF BLEEDING DOES NOT STOP  GET YOUR BIRD TO THE VET IMMEDIETLY AND HE WILL REMOVE THE BLOOD FEATHER(S). BOTTOM LINE IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING DON'T FEEL STUPID JUST TAKE YOUR BIRD TO THE VET FOR HIS TRIM.
